Elementary Director  Janet Durksen  FBCS

Welcome to First Baptist Christian School!

We are so glad that you have chosen to enroll your child at FBCS.   I am honored to have had the privilege of working in various positions at FBCS since 1996, and currently in the role of Principal.

FBCS is a culturally diverse school with students from about 14 different countries around the world, and with approximately 50% of our students being Caymanian.   We celebrate our various cultures at our Annual PTF International Night usually held in the Spring, but also integrate Caymanian Culture in our school throughout the year in order that our students might gain respect for the history, traditions, and culture of these Cayman Islands.

Our school seeks to provide educational excellence centered on Jesus Christ.  FBCS uses an American curriculum and follows the Virginia State Standards for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and special subjects such as Music, Physical Education, Technology, and Spanish.   We follow the Cayman Islands Social Studies curriculum in Kindergarten to Grade 5, and ACSI Bible curriculum.   A Christian worldview is integrated into all subjects, and students also have opportunities to express this through chapel, devotions, and bible classes.

Our staff is comprised of fully qualified and accredited educators from around the world.   FBCS is a ministry of First Baptist Church and is lead by a School Ministries Team.   As educators we believe that all students can learn and make progress.   We seek to discover how each child learns best and to differentiate instruction to support learning in diverse ways.  One of the great strengths of FBCS is the nurturing, kind, caring environment where each student can grow and thrive.

We look forward to partnering with you in raising your children for the glory of Christ.
