FBCS Reading Week 2015 In The News

DSC_0019So the FBCS Reading Week 2015 was a roaring success last week and both the kids, parents and even staff members had an absolute ball with the daily activities.

On Monday there were stars everywhere… well at least on people’s shirts 😉

On Tuesday the bright coloured shirts, shoes and pants could probably be seen from as far away as the Moon.

Wednesday was particularly heart warming as students and teachers displayed their favourite Bible verses by pinning them to their shirts. The obvious highlight for many being the last segment of Chapel where teachers stood and explained why the particular verse they were wearing was their favourite.

On Thursday the students (and teachers) were treated to a live reading from a local author who also happens to be a parent in both FBCS and WEE Care. Mrs. Elke O’Donnell captivated the audience with a story from the Sugar Creek Gang series.

Friday was all about C.S. Lewis, the famed Christian author of the Narnia series and if you missed it, boy did you miss an absolutely incredible display of costume talents. The characters from the book came alive as both students and teachers pulled out all the stops and turned First Baptist Christian School into Narnia itself.

All in all it was a great week that will likely be remembered for years to come. Many, including our Principal, Dr. Cross, said it was the best Reading Week yet. It looks like the bar has been raised pretty high and I for one can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year.
