Hello Parents,

Please see what was done in class for this week and feel free to email with any concerns or questions that you may have.

Maths: identify number patterns, practice working out the rule and finding the next number. Using the UPSC (Understand, Plan, Solve and check) method to work out word problems.

We also worked on mental maths like counting in 2’s, 3’s and numbers that add up to 10. Ideally a student should be able to give the answer in 3 seconds, so that is what we are working towards. It would be great if parents can practice some of these mental maths with their kids in the car.

Science: We worked on understanding how scientist investigate questions. We did a walk around the school and students were encouraged to observe their surroundings and come up with questions about it.

Writing: Students learnt the steps in the writing process and came up with acronyms to help remember the steps.

Grammar: Students learnt to identify a complete sentence and come up with their own complete sentences.

Spelling words were given out today, so please check folders.

Remember to check that your child is learning their scripture verse for this week.  Rev. 21:3 “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

On Friday 8th September there will be a Math test on Number patterns and word problems.
