Endangered plants and animals – grade 5

Choose an endangered animal or plant.

Research your chosen species and its habitat. Draw a detailed picture of your plant or animal. Describe where it lives and what it feeds on. Explain why this plant / animal is endangered. What are people doing to protect this species? Include any other interesting information about your chosen plant / animal.

 

This project should be about 2 pages long and is due on Tuesday 24th January, 2017.

Grade 5 Book Cover Report

‘Pax’

 

  1. Review your notes on the novel.
  2. Fold a large sheet of white paper so it looks like a book jacket.
  3. Create a cover for your book jacket that illustrates the novel. (You cannot use the same picture that is on the front of the book!)
  4. On the inside flap write a description of the main character.
  5. On the inside back flap write 3 journal entries as the character.
  6. On the back cover write a detailed summary of the story.
  7. Have fun making your book cover report!

 

You will be graded on content and presentation. See the rubric for what to include.

Biography of a Remarkable Person

The Grade 5 students had to choose a person they think is remarkable, research their life, write a biography, create a visual display and present their project to the class. They each did an amazing job and we all enjoyed finding out more about these remarkable people ! Great job Grade 5 !

Biography of a Remarkable Person

For this writing project you are to select a remarkable individual. This person may have achieved greatly as an explorer, scientist, author, activist, athlete, musician etc. Research this person and find out about their early life, work, accomplishments and any other interesting facts.

  1. Write a report -after collecting the information, write a 2 page profile about this person.
  2. Create a display – to accompany your profile make a shoebox display that uses visuals to depict important aspects of the person’s life. You could include photographs and objects.
  3. Present to class- You will use your profile and shoebox to present to class and tell them about the person you have chosen.

Enjoy finding out about the remarkable person you have chosen.

This project is due on 19th October.
