Our Valentine’s was well spent, showing love for our fellow man and for God’s creatures. Jeremy Olynik, one of our parents came into talk to us about our Marine environment, sharing some of his own experiences catching and recording information about the marine world.

The children had lots of questions to ask, and generally enjoyed the interactive and informative presentation.

Our Grade 6 bud die readers came over and had a wonderful treat when Jeremy pulled out… Live LIONFISH! I was far too engrossed in the questions and the general buzz of conversation to remember to take the picture. But rest assured, the kids had a great time.

Careers Week was a Massive Hit!

November 4-7th We dub this as Careers Week

A subunit within our look at the community. I believe the best experts are the people in the trenches. What better way to teach kindlers about careers than to have Mom and Dad show us.  Well thats exactly what we did.

Monday I introduced the topic of jobs, Careers and gave the kids some simple definitions.

Worker- Someone who works with the intention of earning money

Volunteer- Works without requiring pay. They can use their free time or choose to volunteer a bit at a time

Intern- Someone who is interested in a job and wants to try it out.

With that being said, Careers Week was all about getting a chance to pretend play for an entire week!

Sorting and making patterns in Circle time

Our first unit on Bears is well under way. We are counting and comparing numbers. We are making patterns and sorting objects by colour.

Circle time is a busy time. We are always moving.
