Re ” Tricky Words List”

God Made Me Project

God Made Me Project

Dear Parents:

We are coming to the end of our God Made Me Project. The Central Idea is “God made Humans special and unique.” It is an inquiry into what makes each person special or unique, family, friends, internal/external body parts, our needs for survival and feelings. The students will be required to complete this unit by doing a home project. Please note that you should assist your child but do not do the project for him/her.

We use projects as a form of assessment because they not only give an in-depth understanding of the student’s knowledge, but they also allow for creativity, expression and will stimulate further learning. Your child should, therefore, be able to discuss their participation in the project and present the final project to the class. Your child should also be able to answer questions about their project to receive credit for it. This project will be a part of your child’s Science and Social Studies grade. If your child does not complete the work on time, he/she will not be given credit for this project.

Please assist your child by helping him/her to read the instructions to get a clear understanding of what is expected. This project must be completed and returned to school on Monday, October 14, 2019.

All about Me Backpack/Shoebox” for Presentation

This presentation is an activity in which each child produces objects and discusses each item. For this project, the student will use the bullet points below to choose the objects to create a ‘Me’ backpack. The backpack can be an old school bag, large Ziploc, a shoebox, or any other type of bag or container. The objects can be real, photographs, pictures drawn or cut out from magazines, etc.
The complete project should include the following:
• the title and name on the front
• explains /include something “that makes you special and unique and why.”
• something that humans cannot live without to survive
• your favorite thing to do and how it makes you feel
• something that you cannot live without
• an item that represents your favorite body part.
The presentation of this project should be no longer than 5 minutes. Your child should be able to identify and talk about each item explaining how and why each makes him/her special or unique.

Kind Regards,

Mathletics!

Hello Everyone,
I will be sending home a Mathletics website login for your child tomorrow. Mathletics is an engaging online math learning space providing students with all the tools they need to be successful learners, both in the classroom and beyond. Please check your child’s behavior logs for this information. On the card, you will find your child’s user name and password. Please feel free to log in with your child and practice skills learned. This is also a perfect opportunity for you and your child to bond. Have fun!

Regards,
Kemeta Dawson
