After school sailing lessons
Six of our students are doing a five week beginners course at the Cayman Islands Sailing Club.
They are learning the basics: how to steer a boat, which direction the wind is blowing and how that effects where you can go. They are learning new words and what they mean; such as the difference between the ‘mast’ and the ‘mainsheet’, the ‘rudder’ from the ‘rigging’ and the ‘bow’ from the ‘boom’. They learn how to right the boat if it capsizes and have to work as a team and share responsibilities.
If you missed out on this course just sign up for the next one, it will run on Fridays 3pm - 5pm, May 11th to June 7th and costs $120 (works out at only $10 per hour of tuition). Sign up in the school office. Ages 8+
