Welcome
Welcome to First Baptist Christian School, where we are dedicated to providing an education that fosters academic excellence, and character development. Founded in 1996, First Baptist Christian School provides an American-based Educational Program in a Christian environment. We offer Preschool, Elementary, & Middle School Education up to grade 8. Our school is rated GOOD by the Office of Education Standards (OES) in the Cayman Islands.
Our dedicated and committed staff partners with families to nurture each student's skills and abilities to help them reach their full potential in a safe, supportive, and caring environment. At FBCS, we aim to equip our students to succeed academically and become compassionate, responsible, and confident individuals who impact their community and the world.
We invite you to explore our programs and discover how FBCS can be the right fit for your child's educational journey.
FBCS uses an American curriculum and follows the Virginia State Standards for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and special subjects such as Music, Physical Education, Technology, and Spanish. We follow the Cayman Islands Social Studies curriculum to explore Cayman’s landscape and history, as well as neighboring countries, and the ACSI Bible curriculum. A Christian worldview is integrated into all subjects, and students have opportunities to participate in chapel, devotions, and bible classes.
Additionally, as a 1:1 school, we integrate technology into all subjects through various learning platforms. As a well-resourced school, each student in K-8th grade has a dedicated technology device to use at school. Kindergarten to Grade 3 use Apple Ipads or Samsung Galaxy Tablets, and students in Grades 4-8 use Chromebooks. Students are proficient in using a wide range of learning platforms, which includes Seesaw, Renaissance Learning, Freckle Math and Reading, Go Formative, Generation Genius, Khan Academy, and Microsoft Teams. We also use the Renaissance Learning STAR Math & Reading program for assessment, as well as the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests that are taken three times per year.
FBCS is a culturally diverse school with students from about 18 different countries around the world and with approximately 58% of our students being Caymanian. We offer education for Preschool age 2.0 years to Grade 8. One of the great strengths of FBCS is the nurturing, kind, caring environment where each student can grow and thrive. FBCS is a ministry of First Baptist Church and is led by a School Ministries Team.
I am grateful for the privilege of working in various positions at FBCS since 1996, and currently as Principal. We look forward to partnering with you in the education of your children.
