Sports Day February 20, 2019

Hello parents/guardians,

As you may know, as a result of renovations at Truman Bodden Sports Complex, our Sports Day this year had to be rescheduled.  Due to the limited openings at Truman Bodden, we had to make several changes to the usual  layout of Sports Day.   Please take a moment to read the information below.

  • Date: Wednesday, February 20th
  • When and Where:
    • 1:30 pm – 2:45 pm at FBCS field – This will be a time of fun,  silly games and to compete as a class, as well as our shot put competition. 
    • 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm Truman Bodden Sports Complex –Here the students will do their track races and long jump competitions in an attempt to qualify for representing our school at Inter Primary Track and Field.
  • Transportation to Track: Unfortunately, busing the students to the track will not be available for us. Therefore we are asking the parents to please transport your child to the track from First Baptist Christian School. 
  • What to Bring: Students should bring their water bottle, a hat, and sunscreen to school.
  • Lunch: Lunch will be a normal, regular scheduled lunch for the students.  
  • What to Wear: Students should wear their PE shorts, running shoes, and a t-shirt in their assigned class color.
    • Kindergarten and 3rd Grade– Green
    • 1st and 4th Grade – Blue
    • 2nd, 5th, and 6th Grade – Red
  • Parent Help: We need parents to time the races, measure distances, and explain the game for each station.  Your participation, in even the smallest tasks, allows this event to be done with excellence and provide a fun,  positive day for all students.
  • Turn in Before the Event: The cost will be $4 per student.  Please turn in the fee and the permission slip below to the office by Monday, February 18.
