NUMERACY
It is essential that your child practices their times tables everyday! Last year they had to demonstrate fluency through 12 x 12. If I don’t give specialized homework for Numeracy, ensure that you spend time drilling times tables with your child.
Review of prime and composite numbers, factors and multiples.
Prime Factorization
Any of the prime numbers that can be multiplied to give the original number. Example: The prime factors of 15 are 3 and 5 (because 3×5=15, and 3 and 5 are prime numbers).
SCIENCE
Review of the Scientific Method.
Learning Objectives for the next 2 weeks:
- Matter is distributed throughout the solar system;
- Planets have different sizes and orbit at different distances from the sun;
- Gravity contributes to orbital motion; and
- The understanding of the solar system has developed over time.
SOCIAL STUDIES
Discussion on the 5 aspects of Social Studies.
BIBLE
We continue with the next two sections of God’s Plan.
1.3 Bible verses that relate to the following topics: crown, eternal, or everlasting, lamb and Lamb of God.
1.4 We can either fit within or not fit within the bigger narrative of God’s Word and plan.
Memory Verse #1
Hebrews 12:2 – Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
Memory Verse #2
1 Kings 18:39 – When all the people saw this, they fell prostate and cried,”The Lord – he is God! The Lord – he is God!”
