Dear Parents and Students.
A warm welcome to Grade 5,6. I trust that the 2009/2010 school year will be a very productive one.
Most of you are familiar with our philosophy and teaching will be driven by these six Biblical Principles:
- To Glorify God
- To teach the Scriptures
- To assist Parents
- To Shepherd with Grace
- To Live with Virtue
- To Pray Always
During the course of the School year we will focus on training and grounding our students in the ways of God, pursuing Academic Excellence that has at its foundation Christ the Author and Finisher of all things.
Just a short note to inform you, that we have purchased two brand new assessment programs that we will be using to further improve our Math and Reading at FBCS. Both programs are designed to meet students where they are at and challenge them at their individual levels.
We will also be using interactive white boards in class. This way our students are constantly exposed to some of the best learning materials available.
Students will also be using laptops to do research and participate and compete with other students across the globe. We will continue with the “Mathletics ” subscription. This will cost around US $10 per student. A student will receive a user name and password and they will be able to access the site from home or school.
We will also be doing some field trips during the course of the year. As soon as those are scheduled we will keep you informed.
We are excited about a new school year filled with new opportunities, new learning experiences, lots of growth and great joy.
