Number the Stars:- We are starting a new class novel called Number the Stars this week. Be sure to ask your child to summarize what we’ve read in class and to discuss their favorite parts of each chapter.

Homework: - Monday - Look up the term Nazi and make notes. Be prepared to discuss in class.

Math - Study Guide and Review for Chapter 7 Test on Wednesday.

- Divide with and without remainders.

- Students will be given additional time to practice using Mathletics and http://www.quia.com/mathjourney.html. We will also be playing various math games to increase students fluency and speed in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Today we had a blast with a Bible Drill! We divided ourselves into 2 teams…the Bible Hawks and the Bible Winners! The kids had a great time looking up each Bible verse that I called out while looking for different names for the Holy Spirit. In the end the Bible Winners won by just 1 point! Great job guys!

Multiplication can  be fun! At least according to my grade 4 class! In fact..we almost skipped art today in order to continue working on multiplication! (Cross my heart it’s true!) The kids wanted more time to play some multiplication games online and since it was SO very popular, I wanted to share these links with you as well! This not only helps to get the kids interested and excited about multiplying, but it’s a fabulous way for them to practice their basic multiplication tables and build up their fluency in math. Please see below and have fun!

This week we’re still multiplying by 2-digit numbers but it’s getting a little trickier. The key to succeeding and becoming fluent in multiplying by 2-digits is repetition and practice. Practice, practice, practice. So, today that’s exactly what we did! We practiced using Math Playground (http://www.mathplayground.com/multiplication05.html). The kids really enjoyed using technology to help them with their work. Please allow your child to go log on to this website this week at home as well and…you guessed it…PRACTICE!

I am so proud of everyone in grade 4 for submitting such amazing projects at the science fair on Friday. You guys made me so extremely proud! Well done! I also have to give a huge thank you to all of the parents and family members that helped out. This was definitely a successful science fair.
