Dress Down Day for Bahamas

Over the weekend and well into Monday, many of us watched in horror as Hurricane Dorian took aim on parts of the Bahamas. With the category 5 hurricane remaining over areas for approximately 2 days, the destruction that was wrought was utterly heart wrenching to watch and listen to.

For many of us, this brought back horrible memories of Hurricane Ivan in 2004. We can still remember the needs that were experienced in the aftermath of such a storm. It was here that Samaritan’s Purse were able to step in and offer much needed disaster relief assistance. They were the first volunteers on the ground in Grand Cayman.

Now, we are requesting your help to aid our neighbors in the Bahamas.

First Baptist Christian School will be holding a special Dress Down Down on Friday, September 13th, where all donations will be given to Samaritan’s Purse (Samaritan’s Purse will be receiving donations via First Baptist Church) for urgent hurricane relief in the Bahamas. Additional donations can also be dropped off to the FBCS School Office during regular school hours.

We thank you for your willingness to help us serve others in Christ. We also implore you to continue to pray for those affected by this historic and deadly storm.
