Numeracy
Objective: The students should be able to
• Tell and write the time to the hour using an analog and a digital clock.

Listening Time: Watch the video of the read-aloud story entitled “The Clock Struck One” by Trudy Harris with the student(s). Ask the student(s) to state all they’ve remembered from the story read.

• “What time did the mouse run up the clock?” (1’oclock)
• “At what time did the cat wake up?” (2’oclock)

Bible Story: Esther
Focus: Deliverance

Objective: To understand that God uses Esther to save His people.
Listening Time.
Read Psalm 34:4 and Psalm 91:15-16. Remind student(s) that because of Esther’s courage and selflessness, the Jews were delivered, which means set free, from Haman’s evil plan of having all Jews killed. Tell the student(s) that Esther’s faith and trust in God helped her to stand firm against what was wrong, and that God used Esther to bring about the deliverance of the Jews.
Explain that God still delivers people from trouble. Share a personal story of God providing a way out of trouble for you or someone you know.

Please read the make-believe story attached below to the students. (see email for attachment)

Ask the following questions:
• How did Cole misunderstand his Bible lesson?
• What did Mom explain about God’s deliverance?
• What did Mom tell Cole about how God delivers?

Learning Activity: Complete the activity from the Bible textbook on page 59. The student(s) are asked to color each shape that has a black dot. Find out who can give you deliverance and set you free from evil and harm.

Learning Activity:
Children will complete page 31 in the (Journeys Reader’s Notebook). Parents, please read the instructions/words with your child.
