I can…compare and order whole numbers between 0 and 999.

I can…identify the number that is 10 more, 10 less, 100 more and 100 less than a given number up to 999.

I can write, count and identify ordinal positions; 1st through 20th.

Numeracy update: Fractions

Now at this stage, the learners are super confident and will be able to tell you the following: A fraction is a PART OF A WHOLE.

You can’t eat the whole cake, or take all the candies, but you may have part of it.

Questions and topics to discuss with your child:

  1. What is a fraction?
  2. What is a half?
  3. What is a quarter?
  4. Try asking, what is a third or even a fifth?
  5. Draw a bag of marbles, color some blue, some red and some green, then discuss how many are green compared to what fraction is green? Do this for all the other colors.

See some pictures of how we used our bread that was sent to school!
