This is what learners should know by this stage:

  2. What is a nickel.
  3. What is a dime.
  4. What is a quarter.
  5. How to write cents.
  6. How to write dollars and dollars with cents

We are working on adding money.

What to look forward to:

Market day on Friday 16th November at 9.00 am in the breezeway!

Numeracy road ahead: Second Half of Term 1

After the break, we will be covering the following in Numeracy:

29th October to 16th November.

Money

Here are the I can statements:

  1. The learner should be able to identify a penny, nickel, dime and a quarter.
  2. The learner should be able to add money (using the above mentioned) up to the value of $2.
  3. The learner should be able to count by ones, fives, tens and 25’s up to $2. This is why we did counting in the last few weeks leading up to the break.
  4. Correctly using the symbols of cent and dollar.
  5. Compare values of two sets of coins and one-dollar bills up to $2.

In addition to this, we will be reviewing addition (single and double digit).

We look forward to Market Day to end off this unit.
