Dear Parents,
This week has flown by ! The students are working really hard.
In literacy we completed a Storytown unit and completed grammar work on predicates and imperative sentences. The students have been given a writing project – Biography of a Remarkable Person. We discussed this in class and the information is on the blog. This project is due on Monday 13th October.
In numeracy we are working on measurement – this week we have worked on perimeter and area.
In science we started looking at Classifying Living Things.
Mid term conferences will be during the week of 13th October. Please make sure you replied to my email with a time / day you would like to meet.
Please ask your child the following questions in order to help reinforce class learning –
1. How do you find the area of a rectangle ? How do you find the area of a square ?
2. What is the subject in an imperative sentence ?
3. Please help your child to record their family history for Social Studies – where their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents come from ?
Thank you as always for your cooperation in the education of your child,
Janine
