Botanic Park Field Trip
Grade 5 enjoyed a wonderful field trip to the Botanic Park today, we explored and had a tour of the indigenous plants in Cayman.

Buddy Reading
Grade 5 will be buddy reading with the Kindergarten class during this term. During our first session they had great fun being a teacher…. and realized it was not as easy as they thought 🙂

Endangered plants and animals – grade 5
Choose an endangered animal or plant.
Research your chosen species and its habitat. Draw a detailed picture of your plant or animal. Describe where it lives and what it feeds on. Explain why this plant / animal is endangered. What are people doing to protect this species? Include any other interesting information about your chosen plant / animal.
This project should be about 2 pages long and is due on Tuesday 26th January, 2016.

Dear Parents,
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.
We are back into the swing of things in Grade 5.
In Social Studies we are studying endangered plants and animals – the students will be starting a project on their chosen animal or plant. To go along with this next Friday ( 15th January ) I would like to take the class to the Botanic Park. I will send home the permission slip on Monday. I would love for two parents to join us on the trip – please let me know if you are able.
In literacy this week we have studied cause and effect in a non-fiction piece of writing, the students have also written poems and descriptive paragraphs.
In numeracy we continue on with multiplication – any extra practice and review of their times tables will help the students immensely.
