Weekly Letter – You Rock !…your socks :)

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

All students should remember to bring their library books each day – our library time is Friday but if they miss due to Basketball this week I can make sure they each have a new book if needed.

I am excited to see 3 students have completed their ’40 books in a Year’ challenge and will be encouraging each student to keep reading and taking A/R tests for comprehension.

As they continue on with planning and writing their story this week and next in class – the final edited version will be completed by next Friday. I will send updates if any need to be worked on at home.

Thursday’s homework is workbook Pg 148 – they can complete this for any story they have read at home or at school and Spelling pages from Lesson 17 ( given on Monday )

Reminders – Rock Your Socks tomorrow – students can wear colourful / mismatched / unusual socks as we help raise awareness for World Down Syndrome Awareness Day!

Social Studies – Tourism Case Study –students have a case study to complete by 1st April – this involves choosing a business in the Tourism Industry in Cayman – doing a short interview and presenting this to the class.

Thank you as always for your cooperation in the education of you child,

Have a great rest of the week,

Weekly Letter – 15/3

Dear Parents,

We are back into the swing of things after a lovely mid-term break.

I was very pleased with the book reports turned in on Monday. All students followed the criteria well and showed good comprehension.

In reading we are looking at comprehension, inferences and story structure through various short stories from Storytown.

In writing we are starting a piece of creative narrative writing.

Homework reminder –

Each Monday students will receive their spelling work for the week – that is due on Fridays. Next week students are completing lesson 17.

Students should also be reading for at least 30 minutes each day and completing their reading logs – working towards 40 books.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays students will write in their agendas if they have a piece of grammar homework for that day.
