Letter to the Parents – 8/5/2015

Dear Parents,
Thanks ‘Mums’ for coming this morning – it was lovely to see you all.
This week we have been continuing on with our class novel ‘Out of My Mind’.
In numeracy we are working on fractions – changing mixed numbers to improper fractions and comparing fractions.
We have had fun making ice cream as we examine the Changing States of Matter in Science. In Social Studies our focus has been communication – how it has changed from the past to now.
This evening is the Family Fitness Night – only $5 for the entire family. The Grade 5’s that can make it will also be helping on certain stations.
Please ask your child the following questions over the weekend to reinforce concepts learned in class –
1. What would 2 3/4 be as an improper fraction ?
2. What is one thing that can cause matter to change states – for example from a liquid to a solid ?
3. What is one thing, the author of Out of My Mind’, would like her readers to understand ?
Many Thanks as always,
Have a wonderful weekend !

Mothers Day Breakfast

Grade 5 wanted to say ‘We love you, and Thank you for all you do’ to their mothers – so we served them breakfast.

Letter to the Parents – 1/5/2015

Dear Parents,

Grade 5 have worked really hard to complete their Terra Nova tests this week. They have been quiet and on task each day. They will all be finished by lunch time 🙂 Yippeee 🙂
Next week we will be back to our regular timetable.
Next Friday, 8th May is the Family Fitness Night – the cost is $5 per family and it will be a fun evening of exercise and family time. The Grade 5s have agreed to come and help where needed, as well as walk around and have fun with their parents.
Hope to see you all there !
Have a great weekend.
