Reading Week

During the annual F.B.C.S reading week we will celebrate and promote READING.

Our aim is to have fun with reading and encourage students to enjoy books! In particular this year we are going to read and promote books written by Christian Authors.

Each day we will study a particular Christian book and author.

Monday 2nd March- “You are Special’ by Max Lucado. Students can wear star stickers or make stars to put on to their regular uniforms on this day.

We will also do a READING RELAY.

F.B.C.S will read for 5 hours straight!

Tuesday 3rd March – ‘ Far Flutterby’ by Karen Kinsbury. Students can wear bright, colourful tops with their regular uniform bottoms.

Wednesday 4th March – The Bible. On this day students could pin a favourite memory Bible verse on to their regular uniform.

On this day each student will make a prayer book.

Thursday 5th March – The Sugar Creek Gang series by Paul Hitchens.

Students can wear regular clothes on this day.

Friday 6th March – ‘ The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ by C.S Lewis

Students dress as a character from the Narnia series – any animal or one of the other characters.  We will all meet in the gym at 8.15am for a costume parade!  The week will end with a ‘Bananas about Reading’ Ice Cream party!

We will have a reading challenge throughout the week – students will fill in a reading chart at home and school.
