Wow ! I was inspired, amazed and proud as I heard the presentations today and saw all the hard work the students had done. We all leaned about some amazing remarkable people. The dioramas were very creative !

In Science we did an experiment to start our study on body systems, which measured reaction times.
We investigated if our reaction times improved with practice … for most of us .. yes it did 🙂

For this writing project you are to select a remarkable individual. This person may have achieved greatly as an explorer, scientist, author, activist, athlete, musician etc. Research this person and find out about their early life, work, accomplishments and any other interesting facts.

We enjoyed learning something new about everyone today, as Grade 5 shared their ‘Brown Bag All About Me’ assignment.
When we first started fractions the Grade 5’s struggled to convert all these fractions and put them on the fraction line, however just 2 weeks later … they got it 🙂
Well Done Grade 5 !
The Grade 5’s chose a Science project , then following the Scientific Method – they devised a question, made a hypothesis, completed an experiment, recorded their results and then analyzed their results.
We had some interesting results from acid rain and height and wind resistance.
Well Done Grade 5 !
Grade 5 enjoyed using their footprints to make a Christmas ornament.

This is the information for the grade 5 Social Studies project. We are having fun learning about England – the land of fish and chips, the Royal family, David Beckham, and green, green grass 🙂

I was so excited to see the biography writing and dioramas today ! The students each picked a person that was remarkable in some way and presented to class. Great effort, interesting projects – Well Done Grade 5 !
