A HUGE Congratulations to our school spelling bee team for doing so well at the National Competition.

Andrew won first place ! We are very proud !

 

 

As part of our literacy day we read with Grade 1.

 

The Grade 5 class did a wonderful job of presenting the assembly.

We enjoyed our first class field trip to the National Gallery. After a guided tour of the photographs of Cayman ‘yesteryear’ the students enjoyed making pieces of Art based on nature. Check out our art in the breezeway when you are next at school !

Here is a short video to watch and see exactly what Global Read Aloud is about , enjoy…..

 

The Grade 5 students will be taking part in a project called Global Read Aloud as they read their first class novel – ‘Out Of My Mind’ by Sharon Draper. The students will read chapters of the book at the same time as hundreds of fifth grade classes across America and internationally. They will then connect with two classes to share ideas on edmodo, Skype to discuss and possibly even set up kidblogs to share their writing. This is going to be an exciting adventure into global reading ! We will start on 30th September, so check the blog for updates.
