Beginning of the year Assessments

During the first month, I like to collect information of each child’s learning strengths and weaknesses to help me plan my guided group programs. I will collect this information largely through observation and beginning of the year assessments. Some of the up coming assessments include STAR Reading and Math tests as well as a comprehensive Grade 3 Literacy benchmark assessment which targets reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and written language. Copies of these assessments will go home, need to be signed by parents and returned to class. I have the STAR Math test scheduled for this Thursday and Reading Assessments will be done next week. If you have any questions about these assessments or would like to speak to me about the assessment results, please get in touch with me.
