LITERACY

Students continue to learn about Nouns. We have been paying attention to Proper Nouns and common nouns and identifying them correctly. We have also been using them in sentences. Teacher explored writing sentences with students this week: Students were required to make sentences with the two words taken from the books being read, sentences had to include a common noun or a proper noun.

Next week we will look at singular and plural nouns.

We continue to practice writing stories (personal narratives). We go through ideas and steps as a group to aid in constructing stories.

Spelling: No new vocabulary words will be sent home this week. Students have in their take-home folders, two lists consisting of previous vocabulary words. The spelling test next Friday will consist of words chosen at random from those two lists.
