Grade 3 updates for the week of September 23, 2019

Hello Parents and students,

Thank you to all the parents who came out to the Math tutorial night on rounding numbers. I strongly believe that  together, we can help our kids achieve the levels of success that will help them grow continually.

We completed rounding and here is a summary of they should know at this level.

Round to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000 for numbers up to 9,999. There will be a number of formative assessments next week followed by a summative test on Monday 7 October, 2019.

In Science we looked at the relationships between plants and animals via a food chains. It is important that students know the meaning of the following words:

producer, consumer, herbivore, carnivore, decomposer, predator and prey.

Being able to identify these in a food chain will show understanding of the parts of the food chain.

Please use this link for further revision with your child if needed.

Feel free to email with any concerns or questions. Have a wonderful week.

Good day/evening Parents,

I am please with the enthusiasm that the students are showing in class. They are so willing to learn and are developing their independent skills. Please encourage this by letting them doing more things for themselves at home. It is acceptable for them to make mistakes as this is all part of learning.
