Online learning for Monday 20 April, 2020

Hello Moms, Dads and kids,

We hope you have had some rest from online learning and are ready to master this task that life has thrown at us. Ms. Benjamin and I are ready to do our best. Our super power is teaching and we will carry on with that. To do this more effectively we will be doing live teaching sessions according to a scheduled plan. If you cannot join in on one of these session, we will make the materials that was used in that session available for use at your convenience.

The goal of having a schedule like this is for the kids to have the opportunity to interact with us and their peers and engage in learning with the teacher so that questions and misconceptions can be addressed immediately. It also allows the teacher to take on more of the teaching of new concepts and free up the parents to do their own work from home.

Getting ready for the Easter break.

Hello Parents,

Thank you for your support with the online learning that we have had to deliver during these challenging times. We still do not know how the next few weeks will turn out but we can know who holds our future. I am attaching the email that our Head of school sent  to parents a few days ago.

Right Now media Bible study

Please have a look at it and use the resources he recommends to enjoy some family time while getting to know what GOD’s plans and will is for us. IF it is one thing that this virus has shown us, is how frail we are in the grand scheme of things. It has made us look at what is valuable to us and how we should reach out to others that may be less fortunate than we are. If you are able to read this because you have electricity, a computer or phone- then you are more fortunate that many millions of people around the world.

Take this time away from school work to rest and reflect on what you value the most. Ms. Benjamin and I will be working on grades for Quarter 3 and you may get an email if your child has not completed a task  that we need to correct for grading purposes. Please encourage your child to continue reading during this time.

I sent the lesson plans for the week for Bible, Math and Science on Monday. You can visit an earlier blog or just check under announcements in seesaw.

Online learning for Math, Science and Bible for April 6 to 8, 2020

Hello Parents,

I uploaded the plans onto seesaw as this post may appear later in the day on Monday. This is the last week of teaching and we will be on our Easter break from April 8 to 19. Classes will resume on Monday April 20, 2020.

As we go into the Easter let us remember that Jesus brought us out of the darkness and into his marvelous light.

I Chronicles 4:10 (ESV) ” Jabez called upon the GOD of Israel, saying. ‘Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!’ And GOD granted what he asked.”

How can Jabez be a model for us?

  1. We can trust God’s favor is greater than our human frailty.
  2. We may ask God to enlarge our field of influence for his glory.
  3. We can seek God’s presence and ask him to empower us.
  4. We should cry out for the Lord’s deliverance in difficult circumstances.

As you continue your weeks ahead I pray for health and God’s favor on you and your family.

Here is the lesson plan:
