Letter to Parents – 9/1/2015

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year ! Wishing you a wonderful 2015 !
We have had a great first week back.
In literacy we have been reading an interesting story about George Washington.
Please remind students to study all week for the spelling test on Friday, a couple of students need to retake their test on Monday.
In numeracy we finished Unit 2, some students also need to do some extra review for a retake Math test on Monday ! I guess it takes a while to get back in to study habits and using those brains after our lovely break 🙂
In Science we are discussing Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks.
In Social Studies we are enjoying learning about ‘Our Natural Environment.’
Roll-a-thon is on Friday 30th January, please remind students to collect sponsors or bring in their form with $10. Hope to see you at this fun fundraiser.
Reading Week is February 9th – 13th Feb – information to follow soon.
Questions to ask your child over the weekend –
1. What did you learn this week about George Washington and the Revolutionary War ?
2. How would you use compensation to add 27 + 33 ?
3. What is the difference between Natural Resources and the Natural Environment ? Can you explain what each one means ?
Thank you as always for your continued cooperation in the education of your child !
