Dear Parents,
It has been a busy week in Grade 5 as we get back in to the swing of things after the Easter Break.
The students have been reviewing Math, Science and Literacy concepts as practice for the upcoming Terra Nova tests.
We have also started a new novel – ‘Out of My Mind’ – if you want to read about the book and watch the author introduction check out www.sharondraper.com
We are completing the Measurement unit today in math, and will begin fractions next week.
I have really enjoyed the student/teacher/parent meetings this week and love watching the students talk about all they have accomplished so far ! We are celebrating Term 1 and 2 !
Please ask your child the following questions over the weekend, to reinforce class time –
1. Describe Melody ( the main character in ‘Out of My Mind’ ).
2. If you finish school at 2.30pm, and begin at 8.15am – what is the elapsed time ?
3. What is the difference between a ‘right’ and a ‘responsibility’ ?
