Weekly Objectives and Homework: November 4th – 8th

Welcome back, hope you were able to rest after such an eventful Reading Week.  Thank you for participating with character dress up day, the library evening, and encouraging your children to read!

Another week ahead, check it out (:

Literacy 

Reading – we continue on with The Bridge Home – we will finish this book next week and begin our first book report for the year.

Writing – The class will be completing their second expository essay this week on their chosen animal.

Grammar – This week we will study singular and plural Possessive nouns.

Numeracy

  • We will be reviewing our topics on comparing and ordering fractions and decimals for our test on Tuesday. 

Science

  • Students will be conducting an experiment on how weathering, erosion, and deposition affect Earth’s surface.
  • We will also learn how fossils provide evidence of Earth’s change.
  • We will be reviewing rock cycles, weathering, and deposition for our                                  test on Wednesday. 

Social Studies 

  • We will explore the various rocks that make up the Cayman Islands.  Also continue on with types of maps and map reading.

Homework

Monday:

Numeracy/Science

  • If your child has not completed the Quizizz assignment from last week, I’ve re-assigned it as a way to study and prepare for their upcoming tests. Below are the new codes.

  • Students should be using their composition books to study terms, methods, and examples.
  • Unfinished science work

Tuesday: 

  • Science: Study for test on Wednesday. Use composition book, study guide, and quizizz for reference and practice.
  • Grammar: Page 29-30

Thursday:

  • Grammar:Page 31-32

Assessments

*Numeracy and Science tests will be graded and given the next day. Students will bring home to be signed. Please sign and return.

  1. Tuesday: Numeracy test

Reminders/Events

 1. Friday, 1st November: Dress Down for Breast Cancer awareness, bring $1 and wear pink to support!

2. Monday, 11th November: NO SCHOOL for Remembrance Day (public holiday).
