Grade 3 updates for the week of September 23, 2019

Hello Parents and students,

Thank you to all the parents who came out to the Math tutorial night on rounding numbers. I strongly believe that  together, we can help our kids achieve the levels of success that will help them grow continually.

We completed rounding and here is a summary of they should know at this level.

Round to the nearest 10, 100 and 1,000 for numbers up to 9,999. There will be a number of formative assessments next week followed by a summative test on Monday 7 October, 2019.

In Science we looked at the relationships between plants and animals via a food chains. It is important that students know the meaning of the following words:

producer, consumer, herbivore, carnivore, decomposer, predator and prey.

Being able to identify these in a food chain will show understanding of the parts of the food chain.

Please use this link for further revision with your child if needed.
