Literacy – Children will sit the STAR Reading Test on Tuesday. A copy of the test results will be sent home that night. These need to be signed by a parent and brought back to school the following day where they will be kept in the Children’s Assessment Portfolio.Numeracy – Children are introduced to some basic algebra concepts. These include basic expressions, number sentences and how a function or rule can be used to solve a problem. As part of our ongoing assessment, children will also be sitting the STAR Math test on Thursday. As per the reading assessment, a copy will be sent home to be signed and then returned to class the following day.Social Studies – Children will learn how symbols such as logos and flags can be used to identify countries. The children will then create their own coat of arms with images/symbols with which they can identify. They will also learn about various groups of influential people that came to Cayman, like the seafarers, settlers and pirates.NOTE: Please ensure all permission slips for next weeks field trip are returned to Miss Hurst.Bible – This week we look at the ninth commandment, you shall not lie.
