Math – Children will start working on Place Value activities. This weeks particular focus is on place value to 1,000. Children will also be sitting the STAR Math test this Tuesday morning. A copy of their results will be sent home in their Portfolio. The result sheet will need to signed by their parents before being returned to the class by the end of this week.Literacy (Reading) – Children will be sitting the Storytown Benchmark Assessment this week. The test covers Reading Comprehension, Reading Vocabulary, Oral Reading, Proofreading and Writing. This assessment will be marked by the teacher and will be given back to the children next week. This assessment will go in their Portfolio, be sent home and again needs to be signed by their parents and returned to school.Literacy (Writing) – Children will complete their Auto-biography poster. These should be on display on our bulletin board outside our classroom by the end of the week. The children will also be introduced to our Class Blog. Can I ask all parents that have not yet given permission for their child to use the Writing Blog, to email me about it so I can set up your child’s account so that they may have access to write on the Blog.Inquiry (Science) – We will be learning about different rocks, how rocks are formed and will start building up use of key Earth Science Vocabulary.
