Week of Dec. 10 – 14, 2018.

Mathematics, Science and Bible

As stated last week, NO new topics will be taught this week. Students will complete unfinished work in their Workbooks and review topics taught in their Textbooks.

On Tuesday 11th, the final Science assessment/test on Plants and Animals All Around, will be done for both classes. This is based on activities and lessons done in the students’ workbook in class. (the Unit Assessment).

Mathematics, Science and Bible

No new topic/concept will be introduced this and next week. In class, students will complete unfinished tasks and review lessons done during the term.

Parents please refer to the Mathematics ‘take home’ letters for ideas and examples for helping your child during this and next week .

Discussions on Classification and The Needs of Animals will continue in Science until Friday, after which an in-class/assessment test will be given. (This does not require any “take home study” sheet(s), as the test will be based on activities and materials used during classwork).

Kindly check with your child for any Bible verse that was not signed off by the teacher, as an unsigned verse indicates that it was not done!!

Christmas Party

On Friday December 14, we will be having a Christmas Party. Children can wear their party clothes and sensible/comfortable party shoes. Please sign up to help us cater for the party. There will be a sign up sheet on Mrs Wade’s classroom door. If you can’t make it into school, please send us an email and we will sign you up.

We will also be having a Christmas gift opening. Please send in a small, wrapped, present for your child (with their name on it) to open at school. Shhh! Do not let them know it is from you!

Drinks/decorations can be brought in at any point next week and food on Friday morning.

No Spellings this week!

There will be no formal spelling test this Friday (December 7th). Instead, over the next 2 weeks, we will be reviewing all the sounds that we have learnt so far in Phonics and our High Frequency Words (HFW). Please remember to keep practising how to read and write your HFW.
