Well done to everyone for working so hard during Terra Nova week! You did a great job!

This term, we are focusing on our research and report writing skills. The children will be researching a different country each week and learning about life outside of the Cayman Islands.

Class 1A won the school competition for collecting the most Yello phonebooks. Well done! They will be having a Subway lunch party on Thursday May 16th. Class 1A does not need a packed lunch on Thursday.

Remember that Monday May 20 is a public holiday. No school! See you on Tuesday.

Week beginning May 6, 2019

Remember to learn your Bible verse and recite it to your class teacher by Friday May 10. There are no spellings this week, please see the email sent home with this term’s spelling words on it. If for any reason, you cannot print the emailed copy of the Bible verse or the spelling sheet, please send us a message and we will provide one.

On Monday May 6, Terra Nova testing starts. Grade 1 will have short testing periods every day Mon-Thurs. These tests will be in Reading, Math, Science, Bible, Vocabulary and Spelling. The tests will all be completed in the mornings, so please be on time! 🙂

Please be assured that the children have had plenty of practise in school, however, it is important that they continue to practise coloring within the bubble on the practise sheets emailed home this week. Do not worry too much about whether your child can answer the questions correctly yet as they are aimed at Grade 2.

We will follow our usual afternoon schedule. Please note PE will be on Tuesday (1A) and Wednesday (1B). However, there will be no PE on Thurs/Fri for either class as Coach Kring will be assisting with the Terra Nova tests higher up the school.
