Learning Grid for the week of June 21, 2020

Hello Parents and students,

It has been quite a school year. We are almost finished and you have done extremely well overcoming the many challenges that came your way. As we end the academic year, please continue to pray for our school and island as we navigate through uncertain times. Praise GOD he has a plan and will never leave us nor forsake us.

This week you are free to come an pick up your child’s supplies and having an extra bag will be very helpful as you transport items from the school to your car.

There will not be any live teaching this week as teachers have to be on site to pack up and secure the classrooms for hurricane season as well as take inventory and all the school business that goes with ending the academic school year. Instead, there will be a learning grid for the week where students can work independently.

REMINDERS: Please ensure that your child completes any tests that were given on seesaw by the end of Monday. Late entries will not be accepted after this and it may affect your child’s final grade. Please email with any concerns or questions that you may have concerning this.

Kind regards,

Mrs. Seerattan

Online lesson plan for June 18, 2020

Hello Parents and students,

We are quickly approaching the end of this week, after which there will not be any online teaching but rather a learning grid for students to follow and work on their own. Please read your Parent R.O.A.R. that has been sent out by Mrs. Durksen as it has important information about the date and time you can pick up your child’s supplies from school and drop off any library books that are still in your possession.

I leave with these words with you:

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans  to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Blessings,

Mrs. Seerattan

Online learning -lesson plan for June 16, 2020

Hello Parents and students,

This is the last week of online teaching as we will have to go into school to prepare for closure by taking inventory, packing up and completing reports. We will be preparing work that students can do independently during the week of June 22 -26.

In the process of entering reports and writing in comments we will send reminders to the students via Microsoft teams so they can complete any unfinished work. One way that you can monitor if they have outstanding work is by asking to look at their various platforms that they use when logged in.

Mathletics, mathgames.com, edpuzzle and seesaw will show if there are any assignments outstanding when they log in.

Online learning-lesson plan for June 12, 2020

Hello Students and Parents,

We have made it through the week and all praise to GOD almighty. Monday is a public holiday so there will not be any live teaching sessions. We are aiming to have all work completed by Friday June 19 so we can finish doing up reports for Quarter 4. Any outstanding work after this time will be recorded as zero.

If you do not receive an email about work that your child has to catch up on over the weekend or early next week, then all is well.

Mrs. Francis Powell will be having a live teaching session with the students at 9 am on June 12, so there will not be any Bible lesson today. The live lesson will be in Microsoft teams in the Spanish channel.

Here is the lesson plan for today:  lesson plan for June 12

Lesson plan for remote learning on June 4, 2020

Hello and good morning.

I really want to start the day with this quote:

It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it.     Nelson Mandela

But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.  The Bible- 1 John 2:11

Your children as the most precious gifts that GOD has given to you and I am grateful that you have allowed me to be part of their lives.

Have a blessed day.

I trust that you are doing well and are grateful for your health at this time. Your kids have been doing a great job at catching up with missing work and I would like you to encourage them to keep this up. You can find the lessons for the week in Music and P.E. in Microsoft teams. The teachers have posted the work in the Grade 3 team under files in the respective subject channels.

Spanish and technology will continue to post in their respective websites.

I leave you with a prayer for parents as I too wear that hat.

Dear Lord,

When my child tests me, teach me God how to respond with wisdom.

When I grow irritable, send me patience.

When I become fixed in my ways, teach me to be flexible.

When I take myself too seriously, bless me with a sense of humor.

When I am exhausted, fill me with strength.

When I am frightened, fill me with courage.

When I lose my way, God please guide me on the road back to joy, back to peace, back to you. Amen.

(author : Naomi Levy)

If this prayer was what you needed. Please email and/or leave an encouraging comment.

Regards,

Mrs. Seerattan

Lesson Plan for the week of May 25, 2020

Hello Parents,

Today is a great day to listen to the chapel service with your child. You can click on this link:

https://youtu.be/POZxadj7NbE

Remember this replaces live devotions for today.

There are a number of test this week and on Friday May 29 is FBCS’s designated “catch up day.”  This day should be used by students to catch up on any outstanding work for Quarter 4. Ms. Benjamin and I have already sent out the work that was outstanding from the last couple of weeks and hopefully students will not allow anything to pile up during this week. We will continue to monitor work done so you can be informed.

Please note that all groups in Math will do an assessment today. They will meet for a brief time with Mrs. Seerattan at 12: 30 pm for guidance and then be allowed to do the test.

I leave you with this quote ” Don’t judge each day by the harvest but by the seeds that you plant.”  anonymous

God bless,

Mrs. Seerattan
