Science Fair Grade 4 Winners

Congratulations to the entire Grade 4 class for doing such a brilliant job working together and sharing their ideas. They all put on a magnificent display for the school and for the judges.

A special congratulations to the group How Greasy Are Your Chips for being the winning group. Here is a photo with Ms. Cilliers, Greasy Chips (with their book prizes) and myself. 🙂 Great job guys!

More 3D Shapes

Yesterday and today for math, we cut out nets and pasted them into our math books for reference. This was a nice activity, because everyone was able to see how a few figures looked as nets, and then they were able to fold them to create the actual 3D shapes.

Science Fair 2013 by Ms. Cilliers

We are proud to announce that First Baptist Christian School had successfully put together its second FBCS Science Fair on Friday the March 15th

The day was filled with much excitement, a healthy bundle of nerves and just good fun!

Our Grade 4 – 6 students had their displays set – up in the Gym where the judges had the opportunity to question each grade for approximately thirty minutes. Each student could present their project and then answer questions from the three Science Fair judges. The judges were Mr Eastman, Mr Vasic and Mr Walker.

Our Grade 3 students also did a super job of putting a display together of an aquatic ecosystem. It was very encouraging seeing their young minds at work. It was a great opportunity to share information and learn from fellow students and also from the judges who had some tough questions.

The feedback from our judges was very helpful. The questions presented challenge and the comments were both insightful and encouraging.   The judges felt that the caliber of our student work was excellent.

We trust that the FBCS Science Fair will prepare and encourage our students to question and explore the world around them. This is excellent preparation for those that would like to participate in bigger events like the Rotary Science Fair.

Congratulations to those who received prizes and well done to all who participated!
