Poor, poor Santa got stuck in the chimney as he was trying to deliver gifts on Christmas Eve! Have a peek at our journal entries last week as we tried to help Santa.
Our ‘Winn-Dixie’ Party
Grade 4 had a blast last Friday during our ‘Winn-Dixie’ party. We were able to mingle with a few parents, watch Because of Winn-Dixie and dine on some yummy Dump Punch, Egg-Salad Sandwiches, Litmus Lozenges, pickles and popcorn. A huge thank you to all of the parents who were able to help to make this a smashing success.

Christmas Party
December 5, 2012
Dear Parents,
This year Grade 4 will be having our Christmas party on December 12th. A few children have volunteered to bring a few treats and snacks on this day. Please check your child’s agenda for what they will be bringing.
Each child will also need to bring a mug/coffee cup for the party. We will be watching The Polar Express while sipping on some yummy, hot chocolate. If you would like to donate some hot chocolate or marshmallows, please see me.
Instead of doing a simple Secret Santa, we will be doing something a littledifferent. There are many children who will be receiving nothing for Christmas this year and I thought it would be nice to give to some of the children in the Nadine Andreas Foster Home.
One thing I am really trying to instill in the students this holiday season is the importance of giving, even when you get nothing in return. I will be asking the students to each bring in a new, small, gift wrapped book to donate, as well as a book for their Secret Santa. (Please ensure that both books are new and unused.) Each student will choose the name of a classmate to give to. We will draw names tomorrow, so please ask your child which of their classmates they need to buy a gift for. I know things get tight this time of year so the limit for each book will be between $7.00 and $10 each.
I will deliver the gifts to the Nadine Andreas Foster Home before Christmas. Thank you so much for all your help and hard work. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.
Merry Christmas,
Ms. Suckoo
