We had our Because of Winn-Dixie party this afternoon in our classroom! We had such a wonderful time enjoying the movie, snacks from the book (thank you parents) and our amazing guests (yes, I’m talking about you, parents). 🙂 Thank you to those of you who could make it. I know it’s extremely tough and some times impossible to get away from work at that hour. Thank you to everyone for donating our food items as well! We really enjoyed dining on Otis’ pickles, Gloria Dump’s egg sandwiches and Miss Franny’s Litmus Lozenges. Then, we had a few extra treats like tuna, corned beef and cheese sandwiches, plus chips and drink. Yummy! In fact, everything was so delicious that we didn’t have ANY leftovers!!!

We presented our Because of Winn-Dixie book reports today! Well done everyone! 🙂

We’ve been focusing on persuasive writing in class this week. After reading a really interesting persuasive essay and article on bats, we wrote down three facts from the reading, that helped to persuade us that bats really are our friends.

We have so many things to be thankful for! We created this “Gratitude Wreathe” to add to our door, just as another means of counting our many blessings.

Last week we had a blast doing a Bible Drill! Here are a few photos that I was able to snap in between the fast-paced fun!

We finished up our Caymanian Cultural Masks last week. Each mask was supposed to have details on it, representing the Cayman Islands. Here is how they turned out! Pretty cool huh?!
