Nadine Andreas Foster Home Secret Santa

Dear Parents and Students, I delivered our Secret Santa gifts to the Nadine Andreas Foster Home right after our Christmas party at school. Although due to privacy and protection issues (the identity of the kids living there need to be kept a secret), the kids and staff there were thrilled to receive so many Christmas gifts. They said to say a big thank you to everyone involved. It was such a pleasure to deliver those gifts, so I would also like to say a Very Big Thank You from the bottom of my heart for helping with this donation. God bless you all and may you have a Blessed Christmas. Love, Ms. Suckoo

Christmas Party!

We enjoyed drinking hot chocolate while watching "The Polar Express". Outside was windy and cloudy, so this was an absolutely perfect touch to our morning.
We were certainly well fed. Thank you parents for helping to provide such yummy snacks for us!
Yummy "Taco in a Bag"!!!
After our hot chocolate and "The Polar Express" we ate, exchanged gifts and played with our electronics.
Thank you parents for the gift exchange and for ensuring that our Christmas party was a whopping success!

Christmas Ornaments!

For our Christmas art project, we made homemade Christmas ornaments using lots of cinnamon, apple sauce and glue! They not only looked pretty, but they smelt amazing as well! The kids truly enjoyed getting their hands messy!

Modeling an Ecosystem

We built our own ecosystems using gravel, 6 small plants, 2 empty soda bottles, sand, soil, clear plastic wrap, 2 rubber bands and water in a spray bottle. Thank you parents for providing our supplies. One ecosystem was then placed in the sun, and the other was placed in a dark cupboard.Expected results: If all goes according to plan, we should observe that plants need sunlight in their ecosystem to stay healthy. The plants in the dark area should be pale and unhealthy. Smaller plants may even be dead. Conclusions: Plants in the sun should be green and healthy. Plants in the dark should be pale and not healthy. Sunlight is neccessary for healthy planys. Most plants on Earth depend on light from the sun.

Pajama Party!

Dear Parents,As part of our behavior management system in grade 4, we created a classroom bucket. At the beginning of the year, the class was promised a pajama party (at their request) if they were able to fill up their bucket with compliments from other teachers or school staff. Alas, the time has come that they have indeed filled their bucket. So, as promised, please allow your child to come to school on Wednesday, December 14th dressed intheir pajamas. This timing could not be any more perfect, as we plan to watch and do some journal entrees on the movie “The Polar Express” on this day as well. This movie is filled with kids in their pajamas, so I’m sure the kids are going to have a blast. We will also be having hot chocolate in the morning while watching the movie. Thank you as usual for your support.Merry Christmas,Ms. Suckoo

Christmas Party, Gift Donation and…shhhhh…Secret Santa!

Dear Parents,This year Grade 4 will be having our Christmas party on December 14th at 10:00am. Each student will bring in a treat to share during our party. Please see the note sent home with your child to see what your child has volunteered to bring.Instead of doing a simple Secret Santa, we will be doing something a little different. There are many children who will be receiving nothing for Christmas this year and I thought it would be nice to give to some of the children in the Nadine Andreas Foster HomeOne thing I am really trying to instill in the students this holiday season is the importance of giving, even when you get nothing in return. I will be asking the students to each bring in a new, small, gift wrapped book to donate, as well as a Secret Santa gift. I know things get tight this time of year so the limit for the donated book is $7.00 and the limit for the Secret Santa gift will be $10.00.I will deliver the gifts to the Nadine Andreas Foster Home before Christmas. Thank you so much for all your help and hard work. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.Merry Christmas,Ms. Suckoo
