Special Guest Visit

On Friday, as Cayman Cultural Day continued, Mrs. Nasaria Suckoo-Chollette payed us a visit and told us some very exciting and funny Caymanian stories and poetry that she wrote. Here’s a quick bio on Mrs. Suckoo-Chollette.

Nasaria Suckoo-Chollette grew up in a household without a television. She became an avid reader and learned to express her feelings through poetry. As a student she was inspired by poets such as Rumi, Hafiz, Neruda and Kahlil Gibran, Louise Bennett and John Agard. She later developed an interest in painting and joined the acclaimed Caymanian Artists Association, Native Sons, showing her work at local and international venues. Her writing has won the Cayman National Cultural Foundation’s annual Cayfest Literary Competition for several consecutive years, and she has been invited to perform her pieces at various community events.

A Thousand Little Things

6829727340_0437be5d74_z

As we continue our journey through the month of November, Grade 4 will be starting a Gratitude journal. We all need to remember to be thankful for all of the little things that God has blessed us with. I believe that by focusing on the positive things that surround us…even as little as some of those things may be…we will all lead a more joyous life. 🙂 Life is never easy, but at least by focusing on our blessings, and learning to give thanks in all circumstances, we will live a forever blessed life.

We’ve also been listening to the song “A Thousand Little Things” by Point of Grace. I’ve attached a YouTube video of this song for you guys to listen to during the break. 🙂 Hopefully you will be as blessed as we were by listening to the verses of this song.

For you parents, have a peek on this website sometime during this month, and get a few ideas for keeping your joy alive. 🙂
