Objectives and Homework for November 7 – 10, 2011

EnglishStudents will continue to work on their story ideas and their drafts.Because of Winn-DixieWe will continue reading up to Chapter 26 together. We will also be having a quiz for chapters 21-26.

Math – Students will understand how multiplication and division are related.

– Students will use multiplication properties and division rules.

– Students will recall multiplication and division facts from 0-5.– Students will choose an operation to solve a problem. 
– Students will choose an operation to solve a problem. 
– Students will be given additional time to practice using Mathletics and http://www.quia.com/mathjourney.html. We will also be playing various math games to increase students fluency and speed in addition, subtraction and multiplication.

Homework – Monday: Pages 59-60– Tuesday: Pages 61-62– Wednesday: Page 63– Thursday: Pages 64-65 AND 67Spelling Homework – We will take a break from Spelling this week in order to give everyone enough time to complete their Social Studies project. Social Studies Students should be continuing their Arawaks and Carib’s project. This is due on November 10. Science: Students will describe the stages of an animal’s life cycle.– Students will describe how some animals grow and develop.NOTE: Students will have an open book test on Chapter 2 on Wednesday.Bible Students will discover Jesus’ greatest miracle. Students will understand why Christ had a human body. Students will recognize that Jesus knows how we feel. Students will understand that Jesus is our example.Homework: – Study Bible Verse for Friday. (Parents, please encourage your child to study and memorize his/her Bible verse.
