Objectives and Homework for November 25-29, 2013

English – Read a published model of a persuasive essay.

– Read a working draft and final copy of a persuasive essay.

– Write a persuasive piece titled “The Turkey Wants a Hotdog”. In this piece, the students will play the part of the turkey, trying to persuade everyone to eat a hotdog for thanksgiving dinner, instead of dining on a turkey.

Math – Multiply multiples of 10, 100 and 1,000 using basic fact patterns.

Estimate products by rounding.

Homework: Wednesday: page 101 (Sharks – All, Iguanas 1-16, Koalas 1-12)

Spelling Homework –Study spelling words for test on Friday. This week’s focus is on Frequently Misspelled Words.

Social Studies– Identify different modes of transport in the Caribbean.

– Define telecommunications, specifically within the Caribbean.

Bible – Describe the triune nature of God.

– Read Scripture that affirms that God is Trinity in unity.

Homework: – Study Bible Verse for Thursday. (Parents, please encourage your child/children to study and memorize his/her Bible verse. This counts towards their end of term Bible grade.)
