Objectives and Homework for September 7 – 11, 2015

Yay! Cheers to our first, full week of school!

StoryTown: – Analyze character traits and motivations.

– Make inferences regarding character traits, motivations and actions.

– Recognize distinguishing features of realistic fiction.

– Write a character description.

Spelling: – Study for our Spelling Test this Friday. (Words were handed out today and should be in your child’s homework folder.)

Math: Today, we started working in groups. These are tentative groups for now, until I can observe how everyone is working. Please ask your child which group he or she was assigned to: Lions, Dragons or Dolphins.

– Read and write whole numbers to millions.

– Solve problems using the 4-step plan.

– Compare whole numbers.

– Mid-Chapter Check

Science: – Identify and describe structures that make up plant/animal cells.

– Describe the characteristics of 1-celled organisms.

Social Studies: – Identify the Greater and Lesser Antilles on a map of the Caribbean.

– Identify the Bahamas, Belize and Guyana on a map.

Bible: – Study Bible verse for Friday. Parents, please encourage your child to study their Bible verse every week. These do impact their Bible grades.

– Recognize that God is Truth and is relevant to our life.
