Objectives and Homework for October 12-16, 2015

English: – Identify compound subjects and predicates.

– Identify a comma splice or run-on sentence.

Reading – Fish in a Tree: – We began our new class novel last week; Fish in a Tree and can I say, “WOW”. We are seriously enjoying this book and are having some amazing discussions from during each session.

– We will be reading chapters 9-17. After each section, we will have a short quiz. Through this novel we will be looking at theme, character change, and accepting differences.  Ask your child about this amazing novel.

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”

Spelling: – Study for our Spelling Test this Friday. (Spelling pre-test and word discussion occurs during the week to help further prepare for test.)

Math: – Math Chapter 2 Test.

– Identify the mode, median and outlier.

– Take a survey. Collect and organize data.

Science: – Describe the stages in the life-cycle of flowering plants.

– Science project presentation – October 15.

REMINDER: Continue to work on Science Vertebrates/Invertebrates Project

Social Studies: – Define telecommunication, specifically within the Caribbean.

Bible: – Study Bible verse for Friday. Parents, please encourage your child to study their Bible verse every week. These do impact their Bible grades.

– Deduced that God’s Word is for all people, for all time.

– Use a timeline and a map to enhance our Bible study.
