Objectives and Homework for November 3 – 6, 2014

English: – Form past tense verbs.

  • Identify and write past tense verbs with the helping verbs has/have or had with singular or plural subjects.

Because of Winn-Dixie: – Yippee! We finished Because of Winn-Dixie right before our Mid-Term. Now, we will be in the process of planning a little party (similar to the one in the book) where we will dine on treats and watch the movie that’s based off of the book!

We will also be moving onto another class novel this week; The Tale of Despereaux. The kids seem to have really benefited from reading a novel in class, as well as associating our spelling words from the chapters that we’ve covered, so I want to keep that excitement alive. As usual, we will have spelling words every week from our reading, as well as weekly comprehension quizzes.

Spelling: – Study for Spelling Test on Thursday.

Math: – Multiply three factors.

  • Find factors and multiples of whole numbers.
  • Please note that we will have our Chapter 4 Math Test on Tuesday, November 11.

Science: – Name the basic needs of living things.

  • Explain how adaptations help living things met their needs.

Social Studies: – We will begin to plan for our International Night, where Grade 4’s focus will be on Trinidad and Tobago. International Night will be held in the FBCS Gym on November 21, 2014. I will send out additional information in the upcoming weeks, as we prepare and organize. If you have any input of ideas, please see or email me for a chat. Thanks!

Bible: – Study Bible verse for Thursday. Parents, please encourage your child to study their Bible verse every week. These do impact their Bible grades.

  • Identify ways we can become more aware of God’s presence in our everyday life.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the word infinite and define omniscient.

Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal. Be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
