You Are Special

This morning, during Chapel, we listened to and watched You Are Special, by Mac Lucado. It’s a beautiful story reminding us that God made us all special and that we are all loved by Him. I’m attaching the link for you to watch:

In the classroom, we took this concept a little further and created hand prints with our names written on them. Everyone then had a chance to write one, kind thought on each other’s hand.

We also discussed and watched a few videos that spoke about Acts of Random Kindness (ARK). Grade 4 would love to do a few ARK’s this week. Please speak with your child/children this week and maybe come up with something that he/she can do. ๐Ÿ™‚

Following this, we had a nice discussion on what Give Me Your Eyes by Brandon Heath is about, and how it is so important to not only speak about doing good, but also put those thoughts into action. This made Matthew West’s song, Do Something, a perfect follow-up song. ๐Ÿ™‚

Then, we ended the day with a Library session, so that everyone has something to read throughout the week. ๐Ÿ™‚

It was a wonderful day! I’m looking forward to Day 2 of Reading Week. Please remember to send your child to school wearingย  brightly colored shirts, along with their school bottoms.

Thank you!
