We love to read in Grade 4. This year, we will be working on our silent reading stamina. 🙂 Everyone did exceptionally well last week, for our first silent reading session. Some even had some fluffy, reading buddies with them.

Can You Save Fred?
Poor Fred, the gummy worm, was out boating in the South Sound yesterday morning in the middle of a storm. Silly Fred chose not to bring a friend with him, knowing full well that he couldn’t swim and to top that off, he was not even wearing his life preserver! Unfortunately, it became too windy and his boat capsized. Poor old Fred was stuck, with no one to help him and with his life preserver caught under the boat. That is, until a group of fourth graders came along and saved him.
Take a look into this Stem Exercise, where groups of fourth grades worked tirelessly to save Fred using only 4 paper clips and their brains.
M and M’s and 7Up
M&M’s and 7Up might sound like a strange concept to begin with, but I promise you, we learned a lot and had quite a few laughs.
The main focus of this activity was not only to help me learn a bit more about each student, but also to remind everyone that more is expected of them in Grade 4. We learned that in the fourth grade, everyone should be writing sentences with 7 or more detailed words.
Be sure to ask your child how M&M’s fit into this activity.
Welcome to Grade 4!
Welcome to Grade 4! I am Tessa Suckoo and I will be your child’s Grade 4 teacher this year! I am so excited! We will be learning so many new concepts and building on ones already learned while having tons of fun doing so! I can’t wait for all of the successes that will come this year with your child. I look forward to having a great year of educational excellence centered on Jesus.
