GRAMMAR/ENGLISH
– Rewrite sentences to make verb tenses consistent.
– Combine two sentences with the same subject to create a sentence with a compound predicate.
– Choose correct present tense verbs for singular and plural subjects.
– Proofread for subject-verb agreement.- Form the present tense of verbs.
– Proofread for spelling or present tense verbs.
READING
This week, we’ll be reading chapters 22-25, of A Boy Called Bat and doing activities based on each chapter.
Every Friday, we’ll do a short quiz, to ensure comprehension. Please be sure to ask your child about each chapter, daily, having them summarize or just fill you in on their favorite (or not so favorite) parts of the chapter.
WRITING
– Describe setting by using details that create a picture in the reader’s mind.
– Use appropriate transitions in your personal narrative.
– Make decisions about what pieces to finish and revise.
– Choose one of your short writes or drafts to finish writing.
– Write an ending that provides insight into why the event is memorable, creating a sense of closure.
– Revise your draft for strong verbs.
SPELLING
Complete Spelling Contract (15 points) and study words for Friday’s Spelling Test.

-Learning to round measurements to the nearest 1/2, 1/3 and 1/4 inch.
-Converting and then using addition and subtraction in measurements.
SCIENCE
Learning to understand life cycles and the properties that are important to life cycles.

Continuing our mapping and family tree projects, almost complete for final drafts!
BIBLE
Understanding how the Bible is inspired by God.
