ENGLISH:

– Write past tense forms of irregular verbs

– Proofread for forms of irregular verbs

– Recognize the different forms of the verb be

– Proofread for forms of be

–  Form contractions using verbs and the word not

– Determine which words make up a contraction

– Proofread for contractions

READING
We’ve finished A Boy Called Bat, and are continuing to work on in-class projects and tests. I’ll be updating with photos soon, so stay tuned.

SPELLING
Study commonly misspelled words for test on Friday.

WRITING
– Revise our draft for sentence fluency (flow of the writing and variety in sentence beginnings, length, and structure).
– Use a revision checklist to make final changes to drafts before editing.
– Edit our personal narrative drafts once revision is completed.
– Publish our work.

MATH

  • Finding equivalents in the metric and customary system
  • how to use measurements in every day life 
  • conversions, using a decimal in length 

SOCIAL STUDIES 

  • If students do not finish their family tree in class, they will need to take home for homework. They need to be completed this week!
  • Students will be given a rubric this week of how they will present their family map and tree to present to the class. This will be the final part of their project. The presentation will be a way of summarizing what they have learned about their family tree, heritage and what they have found interesting or surprising.

SCIENCE

  • As we finish our life cycle of plants, we will move on to life cycle of animals
